Manchester United will look to continue their great run since the World Cup with a double against Leeds this week. United host the managerless Leeds before travelling to Elland Road on Sunday. United are in great spirits following their win over Crystal Palace but injuries and suspensions mean some positions are lighter than others and things could be tricky if Leeds turn up.
Leeds are currently winless in the Premier League since November. Which is just one of four wins they have had this season. Leeds have just sacked Jesse Marsh and so will have a bit of turmoil while they await appointing a new manager. They have conceded buckets of goals but even without Bielsa’s madness, they seem to score in most games. It could be a tricky game but one United can navigate through. Here’s all you need to know:

Manchester United Team News vs Leeds
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Antony are all out for the game on Wednesday. Martial and McTominay remain injured as they were before this game but Antony being out was big news from today. However, with Jadon Sancho back this is not as detrimental as it may have been a month ago. The trio will join Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek on the injury list. Casemiro is suspended following a controversial red card which, now United have chosen not to appeal, will take him out of the next three games against Leeds, Leeds again and Leicester. Diogo Dalot was back on the bench for the Palace game but may not be risked yet, especially against Sinisterra.
Interesting Facts:
- Manchester United have not lost to Leeds United since their return to the Premier League. They have won three, drawn once and scored 15 goals in those games.
- Bruno Fernandes has three goals and three assists in his last six Premier League games. He also has six goals and two assists in four games against Leeds.
- Manchester United are still yet to score four or more goals in a Premier League game since their 2-4 win over Leeds in February.
Predicted XI:
Manchester United will want to keep as strong as possible with their midfield concerns so I expect Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez and Shaw all to start in front of David de Gea. Fred will play and I expect Sabitzer to start with him in a high energy pivot. There has been talk of either Lindelof or Martinez playing in midfield but I don’t see that happening here yet. Bruno should play ahead of the pivot with Rashford one side and Sancho the other with a chance Bruno and Sancho alternate. Weghorst should continue up front as his pressing and linkup remains very key.
Manchester United vs Leeds Predicted Score:
This could be a very interesting game but I think, if United can keep Leeds quiet, stay calm and keep possession well, they will dominate and win well. Leeds still have a lot of quality especially in their young forwards, Gnonto and Summerville along with Adams and McKennie in midfield. However, no silly mistakes, no unforced errors and it could be a comfortable game against Leeds, dare I say, again!
