Manchester United came back from 0-2 down to draw with Leeds at Old Trafford on Wednesday. Goals from Rashford and Sancho put United level with 20 minutes to go but the home side could not find the third goal for three points. Now due to the fixture congestion, they travel to Leeds and will want more than just a point this time. United are in a good position and will want momentum going into a huge clash at the Spotify Nou Camp on Thursday. It is imperative they win this game but Leeds have demonstrated that they are no pushovers. And with a bouncing Elland Road to come, this could be a tricky game to win. Here’s all you need to know:

Manchester United Team News vs Leeds United
Manchester United remain without Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay in midfield due to injury. McTominay’s injury is not as bad as Eriksen’s and van de Beek’s but it will likely rule him out of the next two matches against Leeds and Barcelona. The same goes for Anthony Martial and Antony who both missed the home tie as well. Casemiro is serving his second of three domestic matches suspended but will be a welcome sight in Barcelona. Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be back to face Leeds after illness but chances are that Dalot will start and Wan-Bissaka will be rested for Barcelona.
Interesting Facts:
- Manchester United have not lost at Elland Road since a 1-0 loss in 2002
- Marcus Rashford is just three goals away from breaking his highest every goalscoring tally of 22 goals in the 2019/20 season.
- Jadon Sancho has scored 9 goals so far for Manchester United. He has only scored 2 when Marcus Rashford was NOT on the pitch.
Predicted Manchester United XI vs Leeds United:
David de Gea was seriously cuplable for both goals Leeds conceded but with no real options, he will likely continue between the sticks. Dalot and Varane both had struggles in the game and playing out but I believe Wan Bissaka will be rested and so Dalot will start. However, I could see Harry Maguire starting this one with Varane rested for the trip to Barcelona. Martinez will be suspended for the Europa League so he is certain to start while Shaw will continue as left back for this game.
In midfield, we could see Victor Lindelof come in with box-to-box options in Fred and Sabitzer ahead of him. Bruno could shift to the right, which I personally am not a big fan of. Sancho should be rewarded a start after his cameo at Old Trafford while Rashford will make runs in behind from the number 9 position.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): De Gea; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Lindelof, Fred, Sabitzer; Fernandes, Sancho, Rashford
Predicted Score:
It’s hard not to expect United to concede after their display midweek. But I do think, if United can take their chances, they could score a bucket. I will go for a win but I could see this being a very, very tricky game. Especially if the home side score early and ignite the crowd.
