Manchester United look to push for more silverware as they host Fulham in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals. United are one home win away from another trip to Wembley as they have already beaten Everton, Reading and West Ham at home in this run. All of which have ended 3-1!
United will want the win not only to progress to the Semi-Finals but also for the momentum to carry them into the final period of the season. Ten Hag’s team have a lot to do in order to finish the season well, especially in the league. United have dropped five out of a possible six in their last two games which has narrowed the gap in the Top Four race which a few weeks ago seemed very comfortable. This can all change but it’s up to United to keep winning and push on all fronts.
Fulham have had a terrific season but back to back defeats against Brentford and Arsenal have seen them drop down to 9th. Fulham gave Manchester United a good game in the league in the last game before the World Cup but Garnacho sealed it late on. This has different permutations being a Quarter-Final and Fulham will not want to exit early. Here’s all you need to know:

Manchester United Team News vs Fulham
United remain without Donny van de Beek for a long time but there is good news about Christian Eriksen and Anthony Martial. Both are being readied after the international break and should return to matchday presences in April. Alejandro Garnacho remains out for a few weeks after suffering an injury last weekend against Southampton. Antony missed the trip to Spain with a suggested illness and may not be ready to come back. Casemiro is serving the first of four domestic games suspended. McTominay is reportedly a doubt as well.
Interesting Facts:
- Manchester United have lost at home just twice this season most recently, six months ago against Real Sociedad.
- Marcus Rashford is one goal contribution away from equalling his best ever season of 36 G/A in 2020/21 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
- Layvin Kurzawa has two goals in three games in the FA Cup already, no one between the Fulham and United teams have scored more. Both Fred and Casemiro also have two goals.
- Fulham have not won any of their last 15 meetings with Manchester United (D3 L12). Their last away win at Old Trafford came in 2003.
Predicted XI:
I expect as strong a lineup as possible for this game given it is the last one before the international break. De Gea will start as I don’t see Heaton or Butland being given a game at this point in the season. Wan-Bissaka came off for Dalot after 75 minutes against Betis and Shaw and Varane were rested and so I expect all three to start with Martinez at the back.
If McTominay is fit, he has to start along with Sabizter but if he is unavailable, Fred comes in. Bruno will not rest, as expected and Pellistri could continue on the right with Rashford on the left. Weghorst is a certainty without Martial. The only change I could see is possibly Fernandes on the right and Sancho at 10 but I didn’t like that against Fulham last time and I don’t like it this time either.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; McTominay, Sabitzer, Fernandes; Pellistri, Rashford, Weghorst
Predicted Score:
I can’t see this being an easy game, even with Casemiro and Antony. But this game should be one United wins. Fulham are susceptible to crosses into the box and set-pieces so United need to control those and take advantage early. Arsenal blew them away in the first half and if United can do a similar job, it will be plain sailing in the second half. But converting chances has been a weak point and one United will want to solve soon. I hope for a convincing early scoreline but I can see it being nervy to the end.
United to win 2-0
