Manchester United wrecked havoc at the Amex Stadium as Brighton failed to build on their good form after the restart. Manchester United hit 3 past them and it could have been more. We look at top 5 things which we learnt from the performance last night:

Manchester United have a Best XI (Finally)

Most United fans were expecting that Bruno Fernandes would be rested after 300 mins of football in last 8 days. This was the same 11 which was fielded vs Sheffield United and this team look much more assured and settled.

There may be tweaks here and there due to fitness, but with everybody available, this is clearly the lineup Solskjaer wants to go with.

Magnificent Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood got United rolling with a wonderful solo effort as he scored his sixth goal of the Premier League campaign. It is the most by a player aged 18 or below in a single Premier League season since Wayne Rooney scored nine for Everton in 2003-04.

Greenwood showed he was deserving of a place in Solskjaer’ s best team and can be an equal threat to Martial and Marcus Rashford. This performance will give him even more confidence and showed all the hype surrounding him is warranted. He could be a major player between now and the end of the season if Solskjaer continues to give him a run in the team.

Bruno -Pogba Link-Up play
United fans have been eagerly waiting for this: two high-calibre players, capable of controlling games, dominating opponents, winning points. He reached to a goal tally of 6 goals so far and his first from a Paul Pogba Assist. If United can convince Paul Pogba to sign a new contract extension, the upside of this team is so high. The partnership with Fernandes must be a big reason why Paul Pogba might stay at Old Trafford.

What does Pogba Like? Setting up Fernandes, defending, attacking, dominating, smiling.

What does Pogba Dislike? Standing still

Close him down and Fernandes will destroy opponents. Close Fernandes down and Pogba will…

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is improving leaps and bounds

Aaron Wan-Bissaka signed for Manchester United a year ago and has impressed in his debut campaign at Old Trafford. Known for his superb one-on-one defensive ability, the former Crystal Palace man has also popped up with some crucial assists. His pass to Greenwood his fourth in the Premier League for United and it’s already one more than he provided in 42 league games for Palace.

Manchester United are a team to watch out for on the counterThe big question which everyone is asking is how teams can beat Liverpool after the Merseyside team won the English Premier League. One way surely could be counter attacking their press and hit them with pace. Watching Manchester united this season, sometimes has been more or less of a tumultuous task.

The team struggled to break teams down or even create chances, especially away from home.
But with Pogba and Bruno in line up and the front 3 firing, United are looking like a team who means business
The team is playing good, attacking football, and you feel we could score every time we go forward. It is a long way from the often tedious and cautious football under Jose Mourinho, or boring side passes under Louis van Gaal or David Moyes. The players are having fun and the results reflect that. Long may it continue.

Stat to Note
  1. The win over Brighton makes it 15 matches in all competitions since Manchester United’s last defeat.
  2. They last suffered a loss back in January against Burnley with the Red Devils impressing since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes.
  3. It is their longest unbeaten run since a 17-game sequence during Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge.
