Manchester United vs Chelsea Preview

After a long detour, Manchester United return to Premier League action with a home clash against Chelsea. A long verbal war with counterpart, Antonio Conte, has led to this game. The game tomorrow is more than just three points. It is about something way more substantial – pride. Chelsea are one of the worst lost of the top 6. I detest Chelsea as a club. For me, they are right there with Manchester City and Liverpool.

However, my hate does not make them any less of a team. They played a meticulous game against Barcelona mid week and were unlucky to draw the game. On the other hand, we very abysmal against Sevilla. We need to come back from that and silence the critics who say we can’t hold our ground against the bigger teams.
Chelsea have signed Olivier Giroud and we know what a menace he can be. Chelsea have Eden Hazard and we know what a menace he can be. Chelsea have a lot of good players and we know what a menace they can be. From Cesar Azpilicueta to Pedro Rodriguez, they are absolutely dangerous. If we carry on the same attitude from the Newcastle game, we are going to get battered.
Anyway, without further ado, let us jump straight into the starting lineup:
Goalkeeper:
No prizes for guessing this one. We are blessed to have the best goalkeeper in the world and he should be the first name on the team sheet.
Defence:
With Bailly back, I want to see a centre back partnership of Bailly and Lindelof. I am done putting up with Smalling and I hope I don’t have to endure him coming up against the likes of Hazard. Also, I am a staunch supporter of Luke Shaw and see no discernible reason as to why Young would start over him.
Midfield:
Smashing all the Pogba rumours, I want to not only see him start but also be the best player on the pitch and all the Kante lovers and Pogba bashers will go back into their caves hopefully. With Herrera gone, it will be either Carrick or McTominay. The question is, will Jose go for experience or youthful exuberance?
Forward:
I really really hope we play Martial on the left, Sanchez on the right and Lukaku down the middle. It is not tried and tested but it makes perfect sense. There is no point in trying the same formation and hoping for new results.
So my formation would be:
David De Gea; Valencia, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw; Matic, McTominay, Pogba; Martial, Lukaku, Sanchez
So that is my lineup for the Chelsea game. Let us know what you think about the game and the score predictions as well. I am going for a 3-1 United win!!
