Is Kante United-Bound?

Could Kante join United? According to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, Chelsea would be willing to cash in on Kante and United are preparing to table an ambitious offer. A dynamic and disciplined midfielder, Kante is known for his energy and ball-winning abilities as a box-to-box midfielder. This is credited to his positional sense, off the ball movement, and ability to read the game. Basically what Matic was at Chelsea.

Transfer Buzz: United Rumour Mill

The Blues have enjoyed a heavy summer of spending. They may need to raise funds should they wish to strengthen their squad further. In recent weeks they have to Liverpool and drew to West Brom. Chelsea have spent over £200m to bring in players and has largely been funded by the previous sales of Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata. They have managed to shore up not only their attack but also their defence. Eduard Mendy being the latest signing on their roster. Chelsea are willing to part with Kante for at least £55m, which would be a steal for any club. He is known for doing the dirty work in any team he plays for. This includes running, fetching, and retrieving possession to benefit team-mates so they can be put in goal scoring positions. Although he is predominantly known for his tactical awareness, intelligence, and the defensive aspect of his game – namely his ability to tackle and regain possession, intercept passes, and block shots – he is also capable of playmaking from inside his own half and is an efficient passer on the counter-attack. He is also quick up and down the pitch and often makes late attacking runs. He made the most tackles in Europe’s top leagues, in back-to-back seasons (14–15 and 15–16,) and in April 2016, Sir Alex Ferguson described him as the best player in the Premier League.

Probability of Kante Moving?

Whether or not the rumours are true, United would definitely benefit from acquiring the services of Kante. 30 percent of the world is covered by land and the rest is covered by Kante. Bringing him in would surely upgrade our current squad and be an excellent signing. With Matic not looking like he can play week in, week out, this would be a great signing for United. But having seen the transfer window pass by and only getting Donny, the likelihood of this transfer happening are quite low. Still he would provide much needed oomph to our midfield, which looking at the last game we had against Brighton was a bit lacklustre.
