Manchester United vs Sevilla Player Ratings

The Red Devils get knocked out for the third straight time this season from the semi-finals of a cup competition as Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s long season comes to an end in frustration. Let’s take a peek at the player ratings.

David De Gea – 6

A lone figure throughout the entire game. Can’t be blamed for the 2 goals that we conceded, both out of reach. An average 6.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 4

Made some solid tackles. Passing and ball play were much better conpared to his performances last 2-3 weeks. But culpable for getting caught out in the run-up to the first goal and didn’t do enough to stop the second.

Victor Lindelof – 3.5

Shocking defending. Did nothing to cut the cross out and completely responsible for it. Should have shown the fighting spirit he showed against Bruno, but in his play.

Harry Maguire – 3

Not directly responsible for both goals shipped, but that performance was nowhere near what a captain of Manchester United should be doing. Completely uninspiring! Bruno is proving to be a better leader.

Brandon Williams – 2.5

Poor. Attacking-wise and in defence. Total lack of concentration letting Suso have an easy goal, and did nothing to stop the cross for the 2nd goal. Nowhere near the standards required for a Manchester United player.

Fred – 7.5

Justified every bit of him being selected ahead of Matic. Was tenacious, tidy and relentless. That performance deserved a win.

Paul Pogba – 6.5

Did no wrong, played his role well.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

A clean confident penalty and crisp nice passes to set Fred and Greenwood free, which they should have slotted home. Played well.

Marcus Rashford – 3

Not enough for a player of his calibre. The team pretty much carried him the for whole game. Needs to find the gear.

Mason Greenwood – 6

An average good performance. Can’t blame him for not finding the net. A team of our standards can’t keep relying on a teenager to save our blushes every single game!

Anthony Martial – 6

Wasn’t his day! Tried well but the final finish wasn’t just there. By no means was it a bad performance. Unlucky though.

Dan James, Tim Fosu-Mensah, Odion Ighalo, Juan Mata – N/A

Didn’t play enough to earn a rating.
