If it isn’t broken, there’s no need to fix anything. Ole Gunnar Solskjær ran out the same lineup that dominated Brighton in midweek for the match against Bournemouth. Although at time shaky at the back, United was explosive on offense. United notched 5 goals and it could have been 7 or 8 en-route to a big 5-2 league win.

David de Gea 5

A bit shaky at times and you kept waiting for the big save. Mishandled a few saves, allowed second opportunities and conceded twice.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 6

Another decent performance. Great cross that was finished by Rashford, but Rashford was apparently offside.  Some shaky moments on outlets and in defending, particularly on the Stanislas goal.

Victor Lindelof, 5

Not good enough and was subbed off.

Harry Maguire 5.5

Very shaky on the day. Perhaps the captain needs a rest? Beaten badly in the open field on the Stanislas goal.

Luke Shaw 6

Probably United’s best defender today, but that isn’t saying much.

Bruno Fernandes 9

Great as usual. Figured into 3 of United’s five goals. His passes setup Greenwood’s first and Martial’s goal.  His free kick was a thing of beauty; a curler Ramsdale knew nothing about.

Nemanja Matic 5

Awful today.  He was loose in possession and a horrific back-pass led to a controversial Bailly penalty. You have to figure McTominay starts next fixture.

Paul Pogba 8

Absolutely controlled the game again.  Brilliant in possession, showing why he’s one of the world’s best.  All over the pitch, nearly scored from a free kick, was he wearing a France shirt today?

Marcus Rashford 8

The decision to have him take the penalty was brilliant. He calmly slotted home and now seems back in form. Superb finish of a cross, but was deemed offside by VAR.

Mason Greenwood, 9

Quickly becoming a star. Two more perfectly taken goals. Could you imagine if he finished that chance at Tottenham?

Anthony Martial, 8

Back in the goals again! Brilliantly take chance in the box. A terror for the Bournemouth back line all day.

Subs:

Eric Bailly for Victor Lindelof, (46th minute), 4

Calamitous. Though the penalty decision against him was at best controversial, but why does he even take that chance?

Fred for Nemanja Matic, (67th minute), 6

Very solid. Nearly scored from a chance he created.

Daniel James for Mason Greenwood, (75th minute), NR

Not on long enough to be rated but wasn’t bad out there.  Good in holdup play, could have been better.

Odion Ighalo for Marcus Rashford, (80th minute), NR

Almost freed himself in the box.

Juan Mata for Anthony Martial, (80th minute), NR

Nice to see him out there.
