Leicester City vs Manchester United Preview

Manchester United travel to the King Power Stadium to play Leicester City on Sunday afternoon. Here is all you need to know ahead of the game.

What is the team news?
For the Reds, Anthony Martial will be back after missing the mid-week game against Burnley, and Pogba has also recovered since picking up a knock. Marcos Rojo is unavailable, but Solskjaer is hopeful that Chris Smalling will be able to return. For the Foxes, only Daniel Amartey will be unable to feature this weekend. No side have any suspensions either.

What does a win mean for each team?
For Man United, a win would put them on 48 points and potentially in fourth place if Man City defeat Arsenal and Huddersfield hold Chelsea. A win for Leicester would almost certainly put them in the top half of the table as they are expected to do.

What were their latest matches?
Manchester United’s previous match came against Sean Dyche’s men at Old Trafford where they managed to clutch a point right at the death, ending Solskjaer’s 8 match win streak. Leicester’s last match came against league leaders Liverpool where they managed to hold Liverpool to a draw after a Maguire finish late in the first half.
What happened last time these two sides played each other?
This match-up was actually the first match in this season’s Premier League, and United got a home victory courtesy of a Paul Pogba penalty early on in the game and a Luke Shaw finish in the 83rd minute. Jamie Vardy scored in stoppage time to spread a nervous vibe around Old Trafford but United managed to keep a hold of the lead. The last time these two sides played at the King Power Stadium, United drew 2-2 despite Mata putting them 2-1 up with half an hour left to play. Maguire scored in dramatic fashion late on to salvage a point for the home side.

Anything else I should know?
Manchester United will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and I think they’ll do just that, my prediction is 0-2 United.
