Phew! After something that felt like 700 years, United got a win at Old Trafford. For the large part of the game, United was pretty much a better side. This is a good sign for a good future ahead.
Positives from the game.
Fred had a great game, he really showed continued improvements and adaptation to the premier league style of play. Victor Lindelof too had a great game and is soon cementing his place at the heart of our defence.
David De Gea was called to action a couple of times and made many fine saves to deny Everton from causing any havoc. Anthony Martial is also slowly cementing his place at the left hand flank.  I don’t know if it was only me or you too noticed that he has improved on his tracking back which is a good thing.
Pogba had a pretty good game though he had a questionable penalty, where he scored the rebound. He was again one of the few at fault for the goal we conceded but he realised his mistake, took responsibility for it and promised to improve.

Weak Links.
Matic looked a bit shaky in the midfield although, in overall performance he held together our midfield. I would like to see Herrera replace him in the next couple of games as he rediscovers his form.
Rashford has runs better than those of Lukaku (well that’s according to me). He needs to do himself a favor and get involved in goals or else he will be replaced by Lukaku very soon. He needs to learn from Martial and cement his place in the starting 11.
Lukaku came in late and showed a dip in confidence. He showed the exact reason why he is being benched. Maybe we might say he needs time to ‘settle’ into the team but he needs to do that pretty fast.
For Sanchez’s case, everyone including me would like to see him in another position. Possibly Right Wing or Center Forward. From his performances, it seems Left Wing is not his thing, well at least at United.
We were also a bit petty while defending set pieces as was seen with Gomes getting a free header in the box. Thank God for De Gea’s heroics.
What next
At least it’s now clear who our player for the Month of October is. The evolution of Martial has been similar to that of Shaw. I want to see players who have a lot of potential come up and take up the challenge and own their places. Otherwise in 5 more games, we should be able to see United active in the Top 4 challenge.
