Manchester United vs Bournemouth: 5 things we learnt.

Manchester United continued their winning streak to 5 matches across all competitions as they demolished Bournemouth in a 3-0 victory last night at Old Trafford. With this win, the Red Devils are unbeaten at home in the league since the 1-2 defeat against Brighton on the opening day of the 22/23 season.

Goals by midfield sensation, Casemiro, Luke Shaw and in-form Marcus Rashford were enough to torment the visitors.

Here are the 5 things we learned from the match.

1. Casemiro, the heart of midfield.

We have got a gem from Real Madrid. Since his arrival, it has always been a positive aura at Old Trafford. The fuel and the creativity he provides are unmatched. The class he provides a week in and week out is really a joy to watch.

It is a long, long time since we have had a midfielder of Casemiro’s quality running games in the middle of the park.

2. Eriksen can’t stop assisting Manchester United.

Another midfielder who has turned the fortunes and table for us completely. Many United fans raised their eyebrows when he was bought in the transfer window. But he has proved his worth in a style. He has now 6 assists to his name and only behind Kevin de Bruyne, who is leading the chart with 9 assists.

This one came from another set-piece, with his free-kick picking out Brazil international, Casemiro in the 23rd minute. It’s been a daily routine for them to lead at half-time.

3. Rashford keeps marching on.

English International has made a habit of scoring in each and every match. The third goal in a row arrived in the 85th minute, and Rashford continued his hot streak of form with another goal.

It all started with Luke Shaw. He made a wonderful pass to Fernandes who was free down the right flank unmarked, just had to make a cutback in the box to Rashford for the 3rd goal.

4. Luke Shaw with a top-notch performance.

Tell me what Shaw can’t do these days. He is proving his versatility in all the aspects. ETH used him as a centre-back due to the unavailability of Martinez. He showed a robust performance in the last 2 matches. Yesterday he was brought back to his original position as a left-back where he did even better as per usual.

He was involved everywhere, the crucial interceptions, winning the ball, marvellous forward balls and most importantly a well-deserved goal. His first home goal since 2018. Shaw ran onto a pass from substitute Alejandro Garnacho, to score his second goal of the season, finishing off a truly fantastic team move.

5. ETH’s dream run continues in Manchester United.

Manchester United are comfortably sitting in the Top Four, 5 points clear of Tottenham and 7 points clear of struggling Liverpool. He is undoubtedly cooking things up now after those nightmarish defeats at the start of the season. The records has been staggering since the wins over Arsenal and Liverpool. The defensive and playmaking has improved a lot under Erik Ten Hag as they have faced 21 times the’ most big chances’ from the opponents in the Premier League after Arsenal(19).
