Denmark marched into the semis after beating the Czech Republic.

Denmark qualified for the Euro 2020 semifinals in style after they beat the Czech Republic last night in Baku. They will feature in the semi-final of a major competition for the fourth time. Football showed us another bewildering result and left many fans in disbelieve. Who would’ve thought that Denmark could able to qualify for the semi-final after dismal performances in the group stage? That’s the most beautiful thing about football. They will now face England at Wembley on Wednesday.

Hjulmand’s side progressed after a convincing win over Wales after qualifying for the knockouts on the final group matchday. Since then it has been a different Denmark team. They are expected to give a tough fight back against The Three Lions.

It all started in the opening 5 minutes of the game. Delaney was left unmarked and headed downward from Larsen’s pinpoint cross. Vaclik had no chance and could not able to keep it out. Later Maehle came up with an astounding cross from left with his right foot to find Dolberg who smashes it in at the far post. That should easily go down as one of the best assists of the tournament.

Electrfying start for the Czech Republic in the second half.

The Czech Republic made a positive start to the second half. By the first 4 minutes of the play they already had 4 shots which were enough to make Schmeichel busy. It was again the number 10 of the Czechs – Patrik Schick who opened the scoring account for his nation. The Leverkusen forward steers a cross from Coufal into the left bottom corner, despite having defenders in front of him. Now he has equaled Ronaldo’s goal tally with 5 goals in the tournament.

The second-half substitution was spot on from the beginning itself and they created enough chances but could not able to finish as that flair was completely missing. Later in 54th minute of play Chelsea’s Christensen curled a delicious cross towards the far post from outside the Czech penalty area. That was a half-chance for Denmark to seal off the match.

But it was the Danish who had the last laugh after giving everything on the field and ensured their lead was intact at the end. They will go to Wembley on the back of few magnificent performances. It will be all blood and thunder and the fans are expecting a good semi-final night in London.
