Manchester is Red. That is all we all want to say as a fan of Manchester United. Solksjaer did his job very well again when it mattered the most. Another convincing victory for The Reds at the City’s territory. Last time Rashford’s penalty and Martial’s wonderful finish to Ederson’s near post helped United to secure a 2-1 win.

And it was another memorable show produced by United over the blues. The moment which the fans want to cherish for few days. With this victory, Manchester United climbed up to the 2nd position, 11 points less than their Arch-Rivals.

This time the performance was in top-notch as far as their defense is concerned. United had more shots on target which defined that they were more clinical with their finish. Solksjaer’s men clearly went as underdogs before the start of the game. As they failed to score in their last 3 games which ended up at 0-0.

It was all Manchester United in the first minutes of the game when Gabriel Jesus tripped Anthony Martial inside the penalty box. Bruno Fernandes scored from the spot to give United the early lead. Just 5 minutes after Luke Shaw doubled the lead for United with an extraordinary finish with his favorite left foot to the far post. The United’s left back linked wonderfully with Rashford after a superb throw from Dean Henderson.

Luke Shaw: The man with MIDAS touches for Manchester United.

Luke Shaw’s goal somewhat eased the pressure for United. He came up with a superbly finished goal from nowhere. The left-back is amongst the players with the most number of chances created. He seems to be in his prime form ever since the signing of Alex Telles: his competitor in his left-back position.

In his last 7 Premier League games, he has been involved directly in 5 goals with 4 assists and a goal in his name. The records are simply outstanding. He is currently one of the best left-backs in the world.

Manchester United ended City’s unbeaten run in a handsome way.

Everyone would have expected that City would have the last laugh but one should not count chickens before they are hatched. Ole came up with some tactics and Pep’s weakness was exploited yet again. City has failed to beat United in the last 5 derby encounters out of which one was in the Carabao Cup semifinals.

Dean Henderson did not let us down in the absence of De Gea.

United’s number 1 goalkeeper David De Gea flew to Spain due to personal problems which meant that Henderson came as a substitution. He was prolific and have managed some few clean sheets. Zinchenko’s powerful shot was saved beautifully by the ex Sheffield United goal-keeper.

He was also involved in the second goal for United after a fantastic accurate throw to Luke Shaw. He ran few yards and linked up well with Rashford in the left flank and finished well to double the lead in 50′.

If he continues to show such performances then it would be a but difficult for De Gea to return to the starting XI.

Attack, pressing, and passing were remarkable.

Even though Man City enjoyed much better possession and shots but United’s shot accuracy was much convincing than Pep’s men. United’s high pressing and their energetic run made City losing their possession quite a few times. The first 15′ was a complete dominance for United.

But Pep’s men being the table-toppers won’t keep quiet for too long. Anthony Martial was one of the star performers for United. After seeing the statistics of that match it seems that it has improved from before. He almost scored the third goal for United but his header was straight in the hands of Ederson.

Yet another a solid defence and a clean sheet for United.

The duo of Harry Maguire of Victor Lindelof extended their records of not conceding a goal from open play. Man Utd holds the record of keeping the most number of clean sheets against the ‘Big Six’. United would a bit lucky with the way City played yesterday. They were not that threatening like the way they were in the last few matches. Bruno Fernandes’s penalty is the first time a club has taken the lead against Pep’s side since November.
