Manchester United avenged their 1-6 humiliation in style at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Manchester United once again came back from behind to earn a well deserving 1-3 victory over Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspurs. With this victory The Red Devils are 11 points behind table toppers Man City and 7 points clear of Leicester City in 2nd position.

This could cement their position in the league table very well. Liverpool secured a victory at The Villa Park courtesy of a superb goal from Alexander-Arnold in the stoppage time. And with Chelsea recording a convincing victory over Palace, it will be tougher for White Lillies to qualify for the European football next season.

Coming back to the match, it was a contrasting 2nd half performance from Ole’s men. Cavani thought he has scored the opener just before half time but the goal was canceled out after McTominay fouled Son in the build-up. Ole and his managerial staff were left frustrated with a poor refereeing decision.

A few minutes later, Son opened the scoring at 40′. The South Korean converted Lucas Moura’s squared pass. However, Lindelof and Dean Henderson could have done better in that case. The Norwegian was not satisfied with the result at the end of the first half. But it was all United’s show in the second half. A complete dominance over The White Lillies. First, it was Cavani who produced a powerful shot but it saved by Lloris.

Fred, Cavani, and Greenwood did it all for Manchester United in style.

Fred then reacted quickly to score the equaliser on the rebound. This was Fred’s first league goal since 2018. Spurs were quite close in taking the lead as Son’s fierce shot was saved by the legs of Henderson. Later on, Cavani scored the second goal for United with a plunging header. This was all Greenwood who produced a brilliant cross to find Cavani who did the rest. This has been one of the best finishes of the modern era. A tenacious display and the kind of performance which United fans have grown accustomed to this season.

Mason Greenwood wrapped it up quite handsomely with a wonder goal from his right foot. That was the icing on the cake for the young English International. Spurs have dropped 18 points from winning position this position. It seems Manchester United loves to love to play, they travel, they go behind, they turn it around and they win- ” The Comeback Kings”. Greenwood came on for Rashford and he provided an excellent cross for Cavani to head home before scoring one himself at the added time. He has been a super impact from the bench. United will next against Burnley at the Old Trafford.
