Grealish to United back on?

The transfer window is dawning and Grealish is quickly becoming hot property. Resulting in his performance not going unnoticed from other top teams throughout England and Europe. Therefore United should pounce at the opportunity to get him. Given the amount of money they could potentially get from selling the fringe players, he is easily affordable.

Jack Grealish : Villa’s Captain.

Beginning the debate to why Grealish could be an asset to the Manchester United side starts with last years heroic season for Aston Villa. Grealish played a vital role in last season by scoring in the 1-1 draw against West Ham on the last day of the season. Resulting in Villa managing to stay up by the narrowest of margins. Moreover, Grealish was directly involved in 18 goals in all competitions through the 2019/20 campaign. Providing Grealish with his best single-season tally of his career so far. However, he was scoring 10 of the 18 goals which was another personal best in a single-season. Furthermore, another impressive factor about Grealish is his ability to perform at key moments in a game. Also, he has the mentality to be a leader when hes needed and produce a game changer.

Grealish’s England call up.

Grealish after his England start.

His exceptional talent has resulted in Grealish receiving his first England call up. His development and maturity as a player led Gareth Southgate to say: ” He is really starting to threaten the goal and be influential in the final third more and more which is great”

“when I’ve talked to him about the next level for his game, when he looks at the numbers that Sterling and Rashford as wide players have contributed to hes now starting to do that”

Should United target Grealish this transfer?

Yet, there is so much more to Grealish than raw numbers, he brings a real control of his position when operating from the left wing, his ability to receive the ball from deep areas and glide his way up the pitch. However, that is not all, he can beat players with ease, he can shoot and has fantastic link up play. Only Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne created more chances (136) than Jack Grealish (91) in the league last year.

Analysis

Overall, if there was a possibility United were going to buy him then he will either have to replace Fred in midfield. Allowing a more attacking midfield or potentially play on the left replacing either Martial or Rashford. As a result United can win free-kicks in potentially threatening areas.
