Manchester United vs West Brom Player Ratings

With nothing to show, Manchester United moved to the top half of the Premier League table in a much-needed home win against West Brom. Bruno’s twice taken spot kick and yet another VAR drama were the highlights of the night. Here are the United’s player ratings

Manchester United vs West Brom Player Ratings

David de Gea 7/10

Brilliant finger-tip save during the first half and using his foot in the second half to deny Townsend a goal, a classic David De Gea save. The Spaniard did not disappoint, his saves helped carry United to victory.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 5/10

Not questioning his defensive ability but the game needed Wan-Bissaka to be more offensive causing trouble on the right, although he has shown improvement, he made United rely more on the left wing.

Victor Lindelof 5/10

Not tested enough during the game, Lindelof had an average performance with little to do.

Harry Maguire 6/10

Showed his skills yet again as a ball playing center half with his highlight coming when he smashed a loose ball into Kyle Bartley’s face.

Alex Telles 6/10

For a player of his stature, Telles had a very average performance. Made good runs up the pitch giving United the extra man in the attack other than that he wasn’t tested defensively.

Nemanja Matic 5/10

Although he brought composure to the game, United could have done without his services as United fans were expecting Ole to go all out attack on West Brom and get a convincing win.

Fred 6/10

Good work rate covering a lot of ground during the game. He wasn’t bad.

Bruno Fernandes 8/10

Always giving his all for the shirt. Bruno showed good link up play with Telles and his diagonal passes to Mata were brilliant, got a goal after taking the spot kick twice, a captains performance. Probably my Man of The Match.

Juan Mata 5/10

Struggled to create and unlock West Brom low block.

Marcus Rashford 5/10

Showed nice link up play with Telles on the left unable to get behind. Poor performance from Rashford.

Anthony Martial 5/10

Should have scored when he got the early chance breaking the deadlock. Was kept at bay the rest of the game.

Cavani (ST) – 5/10

Donny van de Beek (CM) – 6/10

Scott McTominay – N/A

Man of the Match: Bruno Fernandes
