Van De Beek will have his chance

“Don’t worry about that, he will get his games. It is easy to say who should be playing, more difficult to say who shouldn’t” – Ole on Van De Beek.

The summer signing from Ajax is yet to start a Premier League or Champions League game for United.
8 games into the season for Manchester United and Van De Beek has featured in 7 of those adding a goal and an assist to his name.
Ahead of United goalless draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford, Solskjaer said that he has many options available to him in midfield. He stated, ” Donny is still adapting to his new surroundings”.

“Donny’s fit enough but of course it’s competition for places, it’s giving him time to settle in and adjust to his new teammates, it’s a new league,” Solskjaer said.
Solskjaer continued – “You’ll see him throughout the season, it’s going to be a long, long season and you’ll see him. He’s impressed me.”

Van De Beek will get more playing time

The 23-year old will surely have his chance to start games. There are competition in midfield at United and the worst thing Ole would do is play Donny out of position.

He’s an attacking midfielder and that position lies with Fernandes. The Portuguese has to be dropped or played out of position in other to accommodate Van De Beek.

Every top club plays with a big squad where you have atleast 2 top players for each position. Yes, we want to see more of Donny but we have to be patient. The time will come. I am pretty sure he isn’t going to play 7 games only.

Manchester United will battle RB Leipzig in their second group game of the UEFA champions league on Wednesday.

It will be interesting to see how Solskjaer will react to his starting X1 against the Germans.
