Intermediaries are working on a potential swap deal between Inter and Manchester United that could involve Ivan Perisic and Chris Smalling according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.Inter and Manchester United have excellent relations and the basic idea is to do a swap deal between 2 players as both are valued at approximately around €15 million.
Chris Smalling enjoyed a renaissance kind of season at AS Roma and was wanted by Paulo Fonseca but due to Roma not offering or matching the price which United had set, they signed Marash Kumbulla from Hellas Verona for €8 million.
Antonio Conte is an admirer of Chris Smalling and is keen to have him in his squad while Manchester United are chasing Jadon Sancho but the deal has hit a dead end and are now looking for options other than Sancho in the right-wing.
Inter to sell Perisic who had a great season with Bayern Munich winning the league and Champions League. Bayern rejected the deal to sign him on a permanent basis and hence Inter are desperate to offload him. Perisic may not be a like for like replacement for Jadon Sancho but can be a quick fix for the red devils as it seems that the chances of landing the England international is diminishing with less than 3 weeks for the window to end.

Calciomercato claims that Inter Milan are monitoring Smalling’s situation seriously and are ready to offer players like Perisic, Joao Mario and Marcelo Brozovic. Douglas Costa of Juventus is another option which has been offered to Manchester United should they fail to land the Englishman for the 2020/21 campaign.
Chris Smalling is considered as a replacement for Milan Skriniar who has been reportedly told by Conte that he is no longer in his plans. PSG has enquired about signing Skriniar and if a big offer arrives Inter could sell him as it would help them greatly toward signing Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante who is Conte’s dream signing in the midfield. As of now, Smalling remains to be a red devil and it is yet to be seen what happens with his future.
