Analysis

Bruno, Bruno, Bruno! What can be said about our Portuguese Magnifico that hasn’t been said before? Our January signing came in when we were 6 points off of fourth spot and 14 points off of the third spot. Two back to back losses against Liverpool and Burnley saw our entire morale and expectations from the club at an all-time low. Since he came in, we are yet to lose a game in the Premier League and ended the 2019/20 season in third place thus bridging the 14 point gap between United and Leicester.
In his half a season at United, the impact he has had has been indescribable. One of the most active players on the pitch, his work-rate is impeccable and has contributed on both sides of the pitch. Since he was signed, Bruno has played every game with no rest at all. Due to this, we looked a little burned out towards the end of the season but he’d still manage to get a goal or assist somehow. He was easily the difference between us getting Europa League football next season versus Champions League football.
One thing that needs to be mentioned about him is his leadership qualities. Despite being a new signing, he did not shy away from speaking his mind and would often make his frustration or displeasure know to other players on the pitch. He is the kind of player who takes charge when no one else would and that’s the kind of man we need at Manchester United.

Overall – 9.5/10

Ambitions For Next Season:

Next season will be very interesting with Bruno having received a well-deserved break and a full pre-season with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the other players. His partnership with Paul Pogba was immense and I can not wait to watch more of it next season and now with Donny van de Beek in the mix, we really have a foundation to build the team on. If we sign someone like Jadon Sancho, he’ll absolutely thrive playing off of the balls fed in by Bruno in the attacking third. That will make our attacking prowess a proper force in the Premier League and hopefully all over Europe. Now that we finished third and reached three semi-finals, our next season has to be better than this and Bruno Fernandes is the kind of player who can get us to that level. Our board needs to sign players that will complement the playing style of our midfield.
