Manchester United once again stunned Spurs as they won the game 3-2 and continued their undefeated run in the last three games between them. Here are the player ratings for the match:
David de Gea – 6.5/10
Looked well-composed and calm but was helpless against Kane’s penalty and Maguire’s own goal.
Diogo Dalot – 6/10
Did some great passes as he went forward, but needs to work on his tracking-back.
Harry Maguire – 5/10
The Manchester United captain was on the verge of having a decent game until he blew it off with his own goal. Had a decent first half though.
Raphael Varane – 7/10
Defended well and had great awareness about Tottenham’s attack. Made a few important clearances and looked sturdy at the back.
Alex Telles – 6.5/10
Defended well but carelessly gave away a penalty in the first half. Also gave a great corner for Ronaldo’s hattrick.
Nemanja Matic – 7.5/10
The DM who’s yet irreplaceable. His out-and-out defensive mindset played a huge role in Manchester United’s win. He also initiated the attack which eventually led to Ronaldo’s second goal.
Fred – 8/10
The Brazilian national was everywhere on the pitch. Made several key passes and defensive tackles. And who could forget the beautiful flick which led to Ronaldo’s first goal?
Paul Pogba – 6/10
Played well in patches and had a decent first half. However, he looked lethargic in the second half and gave away possession quite a few times.
Marcus Rashford – 5/10
Yet again another average performance. The Manchester United winger needs to work on his game more.
Jadon Sancho – 7/10
Can be as Manchester United as a player can get. Was menacing throughout the game and is yet to achieve his best form.
Cristiano Ronaldo – 9/10
Sensational. Simply sensational. The first goal was an absolute screamer. The second goal regained Manchester United’s lead and the third goal was a cherry on the top. One of the best to ever grace Old Trafford. Ronaldo is back in form.
