Villarreal Vs Manchester United Player Rating

Manchester United victory against the hosts Villarreal ensured a qualification from Group F of the Champions League. This also marked the first win for the Interim Manager, Michael Carrick, a good momentum to the next match against the English Premier League Leaders, Chelsea.

Here’s Villarreal Vs United player rating;

David De Gea 8/10

Rediscovering his form this season, David proved his worth bailing Manchester United again, making two solid stops in the first half. In the second half, he made a world-class save to stop Villarreal, Trigueros, from netting in the ball.

Aaron Wan Bissaka 4/10

Yesterday was an indication of the English international reducing confidence. Did not pose any attacking threat but was decent defensively. Caught in possession a few of the time, a bad day at the office.

Victor Lindelof 8/10

Arguably the best United defender, the Swed was vital in helping Degea keep a clean sheet. He made eight clearances and some vital blocks when need be. Also played a lot from the back.

Harry Maguire 6/10

An average performance better than his last against Watford that got him sent off for a clumsy tackle. He was good defensively.

Alex Telles 6/10

The much better attacker, he did very little defending. His crosses through dangerous were over the shot, but his performance was good for a player with few minutes of playing time.

Scott Mc Tominay 5/10

A couple of mistakes, but he had his moments.

Fred 7/10

Took to his new positioning well; Fred did his part and most of Mc Tominay’s role. He held the midfield an impressive performance.

Donny Van de Beek 6/10

Donny starting ahead of Bruno came as a shock to many a bold move by the Interim manager, Michael Carrick. He was not wasteful, but he did not capitalize on the opportunity to impress and was isolated for much of the game.

With more minutes of play, United can get much from the Dutch international.

Antony Martial 4/10

He was all over the place and did not have much of an impact on the game.

Jadon Sancho 8/10

He had a few decent dribbles, and his brilliant finish sealing the win for Manchester United made it his first for the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo 8/10

A disciplined performance with him running back to defend when the need arose. A great goal that turned the game in United’s favor.

Substitutions

Bruno Fernandes 8/10

Subbed in for Donny, Bruno made an impact 5 minutes into the game.

Marcus Rashford 7/10.

Added an extra threat from the left adding energy to the game.
