Italian side AS Roma came up with a much threatening performance against Manchester United in the second leg of the UEL Semifinal last night at Stadio Olimpico. Despite a loss, United qualifies for the final with a staggering 5-8 on aggregate. And they will lock-horns with Spanish side Villarreal on May 26 in Gdansk. The Spaniard really a few fantastic saves in the end to deny Dzeko, Pelligrini, and Mhikiteriyan. Roma struck twice in a very quick time and they were hungry for more. Manchester United was not in the best of forms especially the defensive part. The Uruguayan repeatedly proved dangerous, pouncing on Ibanez to rattle the bar and then forcing a save from Roma keeper Mirante. He made a good decent save in the early stages of the match to keep Cavani and United at bay.

Roma vs Manchester United Preview

Defensive woes continued to haunt Manchester United in the second half.

Fred completely made a howler by giving away the possession. And Bryan Cristante made the most of it and produced a goal from long range to make 2-1 and 4-7 on aggregate. A few moments later Ex-Man City player Dzeko and Ex-Chelsea player Pedro were denied by De Gea again. He produced a stunning double-quick saves to give United a sigh of relief. Alex Telles was poor with defensive abilities on the left flank. Pedro nutmegged the Brazillian defender on a number of occasions. Harry Maguire made some key clearances against a high-spirited Roma. He is now much better next to Lindelof.

Roma was not satisfied with those two goals and they did not give up. Telles’s own goal offered some consolation to a club set to be managed by former United manager Jose Mourinho. United will be heavy favourites for the final showdown in Gdansk but the records against Emery are not too good either, There are 7 goalless draws in the last 7 encounters. So it is going to be a tough challenge for Solskjaer to beat and get the silverware this season.
